The riad follows the traditional plan of medina houses. The sitting room, the dining room and the 4 junior suites are all arranged around a shaded patio planted with palm trees.

It possesses a “sekaïa” —a basin with a fountain— giving the guests an opportunity to cool themselves at the hottest hours of the day. Protected from the sun, a very classical “b’hou” —an open place with sofas—, allows to rest after wandering in the medina, to sip a mint tea or to share an intimate candlelight dinner.

The “douiria” is a remarkable little house, full of charm and intimacy. It communicates with the main riad through an inside terrace with a swimming pool, unique in the medina.

Traditionally the living quarters of the house owner, the douiria has a private terrace and a large lounge opened to the sky by a generous douaya in summer. Providing accommodation for 4 persons, the douiria becomes a genuinely welcoming place, ideal to those who look for intimacy and cocooning.

Real hanging gardens, the terraces are a mythical place to relax and listen to the whispers of the medina.

The sofas of the “menzeh”, the pergola or near the bougainvillea allow you to rest, to read a book or to daydream while listening to the rustles of the medina or the call of the muezzin at the time of the prayer. They invite you to an aperitif or to a magic private dinner under the stars.

Unique in the medina, an inside terrace with a lovely and inviting swimming pool of nice depth (1.4m), links the riad and the douiria. Away from the passage and bathed by the sunlight, the terrace swimming pool allows you to swim and bath in full intimacy, hidden from prying sights.

The swimming pool is warmed up from spring to autumn. Equipped with a jet stream, the pool allows true sportsmen to swim long distances.

Our staff —manager/housekeeper, cook, butler, housemaids, linen keeper…— is attentive to your comfort throughout your stay. They speak French, English or Arabic.

Bouchra, our manager, or Abderrahim, our butler, will show you sites to discover and places to visit in Marrakesh and the best addresses for the unavoidable shopping in the souks or in Gueliz, the modern city.

On request, Zineb cooks, for either lunch or dinner, various dishes, tajines, and Moroccan pastries, coloured by country vegetables, Moroccan spices or delicious caramels.

Moroccan, French or vegetarian cuisine, the choice is sometimes difficult. Authenticity, delicacy and diversity, Zineb’s table is, according to our guests, one of the tastiest of the medina.

Zineb, our talented cook, shops for food every day and shares readily her delicious recipes at the time of her “cooking class”.

Dar Housnia has a hammam and a massage room to carry on all aesthetician and well-being cares.

An authentic social phenomenon in Morocco, the hammam or “moorish bath”, is the practice of a very hot bath, a custom finding its origins in the Roman thermal baths. The hammam is an art. Art of the soaping with a soft soap perfumed with eucalyptus, of the skin scrubbing with a “glove of kessa” and of the unction with “rhassoul”, desert clay perfumed with rose water to soften the skin.
